U10: under 10 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the competition.

U11: under 11 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the competition.This class will be included in ADCKC U11 regattas and is intended to give new or novice U11 paddlers an experience at a start line before entering the full blown regatta program. Experienced U11s should be racing at the U12 regattas.

U12: under 12 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the competition.

U14: under 14 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the competition.

U16: under 16 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the competition.

U18: under 18 years of age on the 1st of January of the year of the competition. - This is also the International, Junior Class.

Junior Class: 18 years of age or older on the 1st of January of the year of the competition, provided he or she has not qualified for Senior status. 

Senior Class: Earned class based on points and placing in CKC Jr. and Sr. races (a U18 paddler who holds Sr. status can still race in their age class).

Master class: you must meet the following.

  • A Master competitor shall be 34 years of age or older on the first day of January of the year of the competition. Any competitor who has competed as a member of the National Team in the previous year cannot race Master events in the discipline they raced for the National Team.

Proof of Age - All competitors shall provide proof of birth date to the Division upon registration with the sprint racing discipline of the Association.
