Outreach Programming

ADCKC is thrilled to have established our Outreach Programming that will extend the sport of Canoe-Kayak to all residents of Atlantic Canada. Paddlesport offers a meaningful way to enjoy sport and recreation.

The ADCKC is currently working on efforts for greater representation within the current club system, racing opportunities, recognition, education and development camps in partnership with under-serviced communities.

Boys and Girls Club | Program

ADCKC has recently partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Halifax. Three Outreach Coordinators and two Boys and Girls Club staff members facilitate athletes ages 8 to 13 three times a week at the ADCKC Racing Center on Lake Banook. These athletes have the opportunity to try different water crafts including canoes, kayaks, and stand up paddle boards, thrive in a fitness oriented environment, and have fun all at the same time.

FunSports | Program

FunSports is a local non-for-profit organization with a mission to strengthen accessibility to recreational activities to all youth creating a happier and healthier society. The FunSports group, consisting of approximately 10 athletes ages 10 to 14 visits the ADCKC Racing Centre twice a week to participate in team-building exercises, paddling training, and friendly competition.
