“This trip offered the most productive and beneficial 2 weeks of training from athletes and coaching perspective that I have ever experienced,'' says Jake Jeannot, ADCKC’s Sports Excellence Lead. “Having all the necessities in one location is ideal. Top of the line boats, catered meals, and gym space gave these athletes the ability to strictly focus on training and schooling. The opportunity for our athletes to train and learn from world-class Junior and U23 German athletes changed their perspective on what it means to train”

“It was eye-opening to go to the Sports School and learn about the priority the government puts on sports”’, states Lily Baert from Senobe Aquatic Club. “It impressed me how they emphasized the importance of their athletes eating and sleeping habits, and how they would take an extra year (of school) in order to make sure that happened. It helped me see the importance of eating and sleeping; and how I should make it a priority.”

The division also sent three club level coaches to Germany. Kevin McIntyre from MicMac ACC, Savannah Sullivan from Pisiquid Canoe Club, and Josh Nowen from Cheema Aquatic Club attended this trip.

“I am thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of the ADCKC/SCBG Berlin training camp”, says Kevin McIntyre (Assistant Coach at MicMac AAC). “While in Berlin I was exposed to truly world-class athletes and coaches. I was blown away by the standard the coaches held themselves and the athletes to. I am certain this trip was incredibly beneficial for our athletes just as I know how beneficial it was for myself as a coach.”
