Lilley Osende Twins Win Big At Junior World Championships

Twin sisters, Julia and Adriana Lilley Osende of Mic Mac AAC performed at superstar levels at the Junior World Championships in Pitesti, Romania during the August 1st to 4th regatta.

Highlights for Julia (canoeist) was a repeat defense of her Gold medal performance in the C-2 500m, while Adriana was part of a Bronze medal crew in the K-4 500m. This was the first time in history a women’s K-4 500m medaled at the championships.

“We just wanted to show we belonged and represent Canada well,” said Adriana (the younger sister… by 6 minutes).

We caught up with Julia and Adriana to chat about the experience in the most recent edition of the Paddle Pod. They spoke of their confidence and motivation going forward, the joy of performing at the top level, and being competitive with one another to get better.
