Heritage Moments with Una Lounder

Una Lounder was nine years old when she started paddling. She loved the sport right away, and eventually went on to become a member of Canada’s National Team.

A few highlights from her international paddling career include a Gold medal in K4 500m at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, a Silver medal in K1 1000m at the 2010 Pan American Championships, and a Bronze medal in K4 500m in 2013 World Cup competition.

An interesting fact about Una is that although she is a kayaker, she is also good in a canoe. She is a member of the crew who holds the current Open Women’s IC4 500m Canadian record.
